Job description

Dates Of Coverage: 8/1 1/17DETAILS:- Locums Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist needed due to unexpected physician departure- Hospital based this is a hospital inpatient unit- 143 bed hospital/ 22 psych beds/ 3 seclusion rooms- Schedule is 8a 5p Monday Friday- Monthly call- 100% Peds- Avg # of patients per day per physician:- Acute psychiatric unit/institute 6 to 8- Acute psychiatric unit/institute admissions 1 to 2- 3 physicians in group/ 3 mid-levels/ 1 Psychologist- Weekend collaboration with nurses- Support Staff : Of 10 staff per shift scheduled, 7 are nurses, with the remainder MHAs, and MHTs- Consultative Services not represented: specialty pediatric services- Referral/transfer protocol: Patients are admitted through our in-system emergency systems and from community ERs around the state- The security department is well trained to support the inpatient unit in responding to behavioral codes (code greys). The inpatient staff are trained extensively and kept up to date in the safe management of emergent behavioral concerns.- Providers must have completed a child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship.- Board Certified, BLS
