Description

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to support and enhance our mission critical data platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in administering SQL Server across clustered and non clustered environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server instances across production, test, and development environments
  • Manage SQL Server in both clustered and standalone (non clustered) architectures, including failover clustering
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain uptime and reliability for both internal and external customers
  • Perform database backups, restores, disaster recovery planning, and execution
  • Implement and maintain security controls, auditing, and compliance standards
  • Support schema changes, deployments, and database lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support enterprise systems and integrations
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Hands on experience administering SQL Server in clustered and non clustered environments
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
  • Experience with backup/restore strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery technologies
  • Proficiency with T SQL for administration, automation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Microsoft SSMS and familiarity working with a database management tool such as Idera's SQL Diagnostic Manager
  • Familiarity with SQL Server features such as SSIS, SQL Agent, database mirroring and Availability Groups is a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues in high availability, high security environments
