Job description

Position Title
Ryan White Manager
Remote
Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Manager, Ryan White Program, under the direction of the Continuum of Care Director and in collaboration with the hospital leadership team; has responsiblility for the daily operational management of the Ryan White Case Managers in accordance with the contractual requirements of their respective grantees. Is responsible for the planning, directing, grant writing and team oversight of the Ryan White Case Management program at The University of Kansas Health System. The Ryan White Services Program Manager is responsible for the Fee for Service contract for HIV clinical services between the Kansas City Health Department and The University of Kansas Health System.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for achievement of optimal outcomes within their scope of practice.
  • Follows policies, procedures and standards; complies with Corporate Compliance program.
  • Assumes responsibility for risk and safety issues associated with the position.
  • Performs job specific responsibilities and demonstrates accountability for own actions and decisions.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge and competence related to the expectations of their position.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the available health and social services available to those who are HIV infected. Maintains current licensure.
  • Serves as the administrative leader for Ryan White Part A & B grants. Plans, organizes and directs operations related to Ryan White case management to maintain contract compliance. Assumes responsibility to write, submit, and manage grant proposals and budgets. Partners with the Kansas City Health Department to explore additional grant opportunities to support access to additional services and program growth.
  • Provides ongoing annual, quarterly reports as required by the grant. Submits financial eligibility registration forms, summary reports and any other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Oversees necessary data tracking mechanisms utilized for monitoring program outcomes and deliverables. Coordinates with The University of Kansas Health System's contractual team to ensure contracts are accurate, reflect deliverables and are submitted according to policy.
  • Provides direct supervision to the Ryan White case management team to ensure effective, efficient and quality program delivery. Provides coverage for case managers as needed and provides support to case managers to partner with clients to develop a written case management plan for each client.
  • Partners closely with Infectious Disease clinic to coordinate services, complete research and quality management projects. Creates goals, strategies and metrics/benchmarks to ensure service excellence for the Case Managment and Fee for Service programs. Collaborates with The University of Kansas Medical Center Psychology department for continuing counseling resources for underserved HIV population.
  • Prepares reports and attends meetings with the City's HIV/AIDS program, and other community meetings as required and requested by the grantee and the Hospital.
  • Serves as a leader to organize and facilitate multi-disciplinary work groups to address program priorities, with particular focus on any health disparities for sub-populations.
  • Coordinates with other program managers of Ryan Whie services within the Kansas City region to ensure seamless service delivery for individuals served.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • Masters Social Work
  • 5 or more years of social work or healthcare experience
  • 2 or more years of relevant case management/care coordination experience

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Management experience, including program planning, grant writing, staff supervision and quality management responsibilities

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Licensed Masters Social Worker(LMSW) - State Board of Behavioral Sciences
