Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for the team, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for high performance. Responsibilities Live the purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and consistent follow‐up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to adhere to workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, collaborating with the patient's healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, engage Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold‐chain product protection and best practices. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure. Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and raise issues to the Rx DL when necessary. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‐trained colleagues and oversee their licensure training. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance and delivering annual reviews. Remain flexible with scheduling, support a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, and oversee pharmacy scheduling. Review business reporting for insights, develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety and encouraging feedback. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing education, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge. Support patient outcomes through clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible, empowering the team to provide holistic care. Understand and comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including controlled substance dispensing and record‐keeping, while protecting patient privacy and maintaining a safe workplace. Essential Functions Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Focus on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks, and ensure prescription information and label accuracy. Provide friendly customer service, notice and respond to patient reactions, and use effective verbal and written communication. Apply math to solve dispensing problems such as total tablet counts and inventory calculations. Resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions by selecting appropriate actions. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead and bend at the waist. Use fingers repetitively for typing or other tasks; extend hands and arms in multiple directions. Maintain visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing and reading small print. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. (frequently up to 10 lbs.); other tasks require negligible force. Express ideas verbally and receive detailed oral information accurately. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example and set a positive tone. Delegate tasks, empower team members, and foster collaboration. Motivate and inspire team members to meet standards and achieve high performance. Apply problem‐solving skills to address challenges and develop innovative solutions. Adapt to changing circumstances, take ownership, and coach or discipline team members as needed. Perform any additional tasks directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‐EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations, as business needs arise. Pay The typical pay range for this role is $65.00 – $85.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. This full‐time position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‐term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
