Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Pharmacy Data Entry Technician to join our pharmacy business office team.


This position is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician who enjoys working in a professional healthcare environment and has strong computer, data entry, communication, and organizational skills. The Pharmacy Data Entry Technician plays an important role in supporting accurate prescription order entry, coordinating medication needs for new resident admissions, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service to healthcare facilities, residents, and family members.


Schedule

Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed


What You'll Do

As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and support the daily operations of the pharmacy business office.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately entering physician prescription orders into the pharmacy system
  • Coordinating medication needs for new resident admissions across multiple healthcare facilities
  • Verifying patient demographics, insurance information, and admission information for accuracy and completeness
  • Answering incoming telephone calls professionally and directing inquiries appropriately
  • Assisting residents and family members with questions regarding pharmacy billing statements
  • Tracking and maintaining Medication Regimen Review documentation
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and protecting confidential health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicating effectively with pharmacists, healthcare facilities, admissions staff, and other members of the pharmacy team
  • Generating routine reports to support pharmacy business office operations
  • Performing additional pharmacy business office duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will be a Pharmacy Technician who is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • Current Maine Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and general computer applications
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
  • Commitment to professionalism and outstanding customer service
  • Ability to comply with applicable federal, state, and VA regulations
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment, with the ability to identify and resolve routine problems independently
