Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
  • RVT license required ( preferred)
  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
  • Prior chemotherapy experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with both staff and clients
  • Ability to handle high stress situations
  • Willingness to cross train in other areas of the hospital

Essential Job Duties:
  • Able to assess changes in hospitalized patients condition and advise Doctor, updates owners on a daily basis
  • Able to perform venipuncture, place IV catheterization, comfortable administering IV/IM/SQ injections
  • Able to provide fluid therapy and drug calculations
  • Experienced in animal handling and restraint
  • Obtain, run and process diagnostic test
  • Administer and fill medications
  • Must be proficient in catheterizations i.e.: urinary, i.v., including butterfly catheters
  • Experience in monitoring anesthesia. Induce and monitor anesthesia, recover patients
  • Able to facilitate the coordination of patient care
  • Perform bone marrow aspirates, skin punch biopsies and fine needle aspirates.
  • Perform MRI, CT & assist in ultrasounds
  • Can assist with radiographs or holding for ultrasonography procedures
  • Strong verbal communication skills- able to provide complex information in a way that is kind and understandable to our clients.
  • Assist in patient procedures: exams, preparation of patients, present estimates and equipment
  • Experience and attention to detail in working with patients' medical records
  • Experience with Ezyvet a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and able to multi-task
  • Light housekeeping duties and restocking of treatment supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Hours: Full-time; 10 hours shifts. Must be available to work from 8am to 7pm.
