Job Summary

Working at Boyd isn't your usual manufacturing experience. This role is designed for someone who prefers an intellectual challenge above and beyond the day-to-day physical tasks. And the best part is, no prior experience is required; on the job training will gladly be provided!

3rd shift position working Sunday night - Thursday night 10pm - 6am.

In a nutshell, our Extrusion Operators are responsible for operating an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures/guidelines and customer requirements. The ideal person will be a team player with a drive to succeed and a willingness to help others. We are a company that takes pride in satisfying our customers, so candidates should be prepared to support our efforts with overtime work as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Produce quality parts; inspecting and approving profiles to ensure they meet all manufacturing requirements.

Inspect the quality of materials and alert the Production Supervisor or appropriate personnel of material issues and/or failures immediately.

Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

- When needed will need to perform die changes

Inspect the quality of the machinery and report equipment failures to the Maintenance Department.

- Perform all quality checks and be responsible for accurate paperwork; quality minded.

- Occasional forklift operating

Ensure that all required shift paperwork is accurate and complete.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Strong communication skills - written and verbal.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Ability to stand for a 8-hour shift, which may include: bending, twisting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Ability to read a work order, use a tape measure, and preferred caliper/micrometer experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Prior extrusion experience is a plus but not required.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times.

Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
