Overview
Rust Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Large Equipment Operator to support our Walnut Creet Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project located in Austin , TX.
Rust Constructors Inc. is a full-service, merit-shop construction and maintenance company providing life-cycle services for the mining, power, industrial, infrastructure, and government markets. Our services include construction, construction management, construction consulting; testing, checkout, start-up; and plant services including total plant maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds, production support and technical support. Rust is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimmick Construction Company, Inc.
Responsibilities
The Equipment Operator performs a variety of skilled work in the operation of light, medium and heavy equipment.
Typical Responsibilitites include but are not limited to the following:
  • Receives written, visual, and oral instructions from supervisor regarding materials to move or excavate.
  • Coordinates machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Demonstrates safe operation of all equipment.
  • Reads and understands the results and purpose of all gauges and equipment.
  • Properly maintains and services or has equipment serviced daily.
  • Performs minor maintenance or clearing of tools and equipment.
  • Loads and moves dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
  • Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain.

Level Specific Responsibilities:
  • Under direct supervision, performs routine duties.
  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard construction techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic construction specifications.
  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Five years of experience in a related position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand plans and specifications.
  • High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating dozers, loaders, skidsteers, and/or blades.

Additional Information:

  • This is a safety sensitive position.

The hourly rate for this position is $31.16 per hour.
