Job description

Job Title: Russian Nurse Instructor
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11223
Job Type: Full-Time (In-Person)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (35 hours/week)
Duration: 3 Months (with possibility of extension)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a bilingual Russian-English Registered Nurse Instructor to lead training and evaluation programs for Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs). This role is responsible for ensuring home care paraprofessionals meet New York State Department of Health (DOH) standards through structured training and competency assessments. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Russian and English, DOH-approved to teach, and have experience in both home care services and paraprofessional education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and coordinate DOH-compliant HHA and PCA training programs, including orientation, in-services, refreshers, and skill competency evaluations.

  • Develop training materials and lesson plans using various instructional methods: lectures, group sessions, demos, and multimedia tools.

  • Assess trainee progress through written and practical evaluations; provide feedback and guidance to improve performance.

  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with Education Manager to update training curricula based on latest guidelines and quality standards.

  • Provide regular reports, metrics, and evaluations to the administrative team.

  • Perform administrative duties, including using MS Office for documentation, scheduling, and communication.

  • Support agency-wide compliance and mandatory training initiatives (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, sexual harassment prevention).

  • Uphold professional appearance and attendance per company policy.

  • Travel locally as needed to alternate training locations.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in New York State (Required)

  • DOH-Approved Nurse Instructor for Home Care training programs (Required)

  • Fluency in Russian and English (Required)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Home Health Care within a CHHA or LHCSA (Required)

  • Prior experience training and supervising HHAs and PCAs (Required)

  • Strong presentation, instructional, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience developing and updating instructional materials

  • Familiarity with long-term care and post-acute environments

  • Knowledge of home health care transition planning

Working Conditions:

  • On-site work at a professional office/training center

  • Use of computer, projector, and other instructional equipment

  • Local travel via public transport or personal vehicle (if applicable)
