Job description

A lovely family in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan with two school-aged children is seeking a nanny to start asap after their nanny of 7 years retired. The schedule will typically be Monday through Friday from 11am to 6pm during the school year. The family will guarantee 40 hours if the nanny prefers more hours. During the summer the family will be in the Hamptons and typically the nanny works Monday through Thursday then, with a private bedroom for overnights. The family is expecting a new baby in August so a candidate with infant experience would be ideal but not required. The children are well-mannered and creative. They love playing chess and are learning piano. In the summer they do tennis, crafts, and horseback riding so someone who can come up with activities and have a playful energy would do best.


  • Full childcare of both children including caring for and engaging the children in a developmentally appropriate way and keeping their lives running smoothly.
  • Taking the children to and from activities after school, homework help, and keeping their spaces and belongings neat and tidy with light housekeeping tasks
  • Meal prep and cooking children's meals. The children are well mannered and helpful. They enjoy helping set the table and being involved in meal time
  • Children’s laundry
  • Organizing and light housekeeping (loading and unloading dishwasher, taking out the trash, etc.) while the children are at school. There is a housekeeper weekly for deep cleaning

  • Responsible, proactive, and polite. The family values manners, creativity, and education.
  • Team-player with great communication, happy to work with involved parents
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and who has impeccable communication skills
  • A candidate able to speak either Russian or Ukrainian would be ideal

  • Must be water safe and comfortable supervising children in the pool
  • Legal to work in the US
  • Experience with school-aged children and able to provide respectful but firm boundaries and discipline.

Pay is $35 per hour. Benefits such as PTO, sick days, and holidays
