EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PERFORMANCE, ANALYTICS AND AI

CARE USA

Atlanta, GA

Full-time

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

CARE saves lives and defeats poverty in more than 100 countries. To do that at scale, CARE USA needs to raise $1 billion annually by 2035 - and reaching that goal requires a step-change in how the organisation uses data and intelligence to make decisions. The Executive Director, Performance, Analytics & AI is the leader who will make that happen: uplevelling CARE USA's Resource Development function by powering dynamic analytics and AI capability that enables faster, better performance decisions and shortens the runway to our revenue goals.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and working in close partnership with the Resource Development senior leadership team and the Digital and Finance teams, this newly created role owns Resource Development's full analytics and performance ecosystem - from revenue intelligence and forecasting to AI adoption and gift operations. The Executive Director is a principal thought partner to the CRO and the leadership team, translating complex data into competitive insight, embedding a culture of evidence-based decision-making, and ensuring CARE USA has the predictive intelligence needed to reach its revenue goals. The ED directly supervises CARE's Resource Development Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function alongside the gift processing and data integrity teams, providing executive guidance for the operational and financial infrastructure that underpins the division's revenue performance.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior analytics leader who is energized by transformation, passionate about enabling money for mission, and ready to operate at the intersection of data science and fundraising strategy. The right candidate will bring deep technical fluency and the presence to deploy it where it matters most: driving more revenue for one of the world's most respected humanitarian organisations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Analytics, Reporting & Insights

Lead the transformation of Resource Development's analytics and reporting capability - from largely manual processes and basic dashboards to a dynamic intelligence infrastructure that enables faster, better performance decisions. Working in close partnership with the Digital and Finance teams, this role sets the vision and leads delivery of RD's analytics function, including the underlying health metrics that drive a true picture of fundraising performance.

  • Lead the evolution of Resource Development's reporting from largely manual processes and basic dashboards to real-time, predictive KPI frameworks and multi-channel performance analytics - including the underlying health metrics that give leadership a true, always-current picture of fundraising performance.
  • Work in close partnership with the Digital team to maximize the full impact of CARE's Salesforce NPSP platform and support the eventual transition to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (now branded Agentforce Nonprofit) - ensuring Resource Development's analytics and reporting capabilities keep pace with platform development.
  • Work closely with the Finance team and support the CRO and Chief Operating and Finance Officer (COFO) with monthly reporting on key acceleration plans and channel performance, enabling agile decision-making grounded in accurate, timely data.
  • Translate underlying health metrics and performance data into high-quality Board and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) materials - developing dashboards, reports, and narratives that make complex data accessible and actionable for senior audiences.
  • Lead CARE USA's contribution to global intelligence and benchmarking, including the International Fundraising Leadership (IFL) Forum, ensuring CARE's data is rigorous, comparable, and used to drive competitive insight.
  • Partner with the Digital team on data governance - supporting policies covering data use, acquisition, retention, archiving, and ethics - ensuring Resource Development's needs and standards are embedded in organisation-wide frameworks owned by Digital.

Technology, AI Adoption & Data Governance

Drive CARE USA's AI adoption within Resource Development - working in partnership with the Digital and Program teams to leverage CARE's overall AI partnerships and approach into a cutting-edge Resource Development strategy that drives greater efficiency, impact, and revenue.

  • Work in partnership with the Digital team - CARE USA's internal technology service provider - to ensure Resource Development's analytical and AI needs are embedded in organisation-wide technology strategy, platform decisions, and Salesforce development.
  • Develop a deliberate, scalable AI adoption roadmap for Resource Development, identifying where AI tools can drive the greatest gains in efficiency, supporter engagement, and revenue - and working with Digital and Program teams to connect to CARE's broader AI partnerships and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with channel leads - including the Chief Individual Giving Officer and other AVP peers - helping and supporting them to find AI unlocks that solve their biggest problems: for example, faster segmentation, smarter knowledge management, or improved prospect research.
  • Support the development of an AI governance approach for Resource Development in partnership with Digital, ensuring responsible, ethical use of AI and data in fundraising contexts.
  • Champion an AI-ready culture within Resource Development: building data literacy and AI fluency across the division, and ensuring teams understand how to use new tools effectively and responsibly.

Team Leadership & Organisational Development

Lead a high-performing team encompassing supporter services, gift processing, data integrity, and Resource Development Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - with a high-level vision to create a world-class supporter experience that brings joy in giving and confirms every donor's decision to support CARE.

  • Lead the supporter services function with a vision for world-class donor experience: warm, fast, and efficient service that confirms supporters' decision to give to CARE and builds long-term loyalty. Work in close partnership with funding channel leads to ensure their donors and supporters receive a consistently excellent experience.
  • Play a key role in developing and upgrading supporter loyalty - working with channel teams to use data, personalisation, and service excellence to deepen supporter commitment and grow long-term revenue.
  • Lead gift processing and data integrity teams to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality outputs that underpin both the supporter experience and the division's analytical capability.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth across all direct report teams.
  • Lead effective change management as the function transitions from manual, basic processes toward a more automated, insight-driven operating model - bringing staff and stakeholders on the journey.

Cross-functional Strategy & Senior Leadership Partnership

Support the close strategic partnership and joint decision-making of the CRO and Chief Operating and Finance Officer - providing the analytical rigour, performance reporting, and data-backed foresight that drives agile, evidence-based leadership across CARE USA's revenue function.

  • Partner with the Director of Fundraising Planning & Analysis on the annual forecasting and budgeting process - providing the intelligence layer and analytical framework that the FP&A Director translates into operational financial plans.
  • Support monthly reporting for the CRO and COFO on key acceleration plans and channel performance - ensuring both leaders have the data they need to make fast, confident decisions and course-correct where needed.
  • Develop Board and ELT-level materials that translate complex performance data and underlying health metrics into clear, compelling narratives - making CARE USA's fundraising trajectory visible and understandable at the highest level.
  • Lead CARE USA's global intelligence and benchmarking function - ensuring the organisation is connected to sector-wide performance data, learns from peer INGOs, and positions CARE's results in a meaningful comparative context.
  • Contribute data-driven perspective to cross-divisional conversations, ensuring analytics considerations are embedded in programme design, campaign planning, and strategic positioning.
