Position Overview:
The responsibilities of an assistant coach can vary depending on the level of the team and the specific requirements set by the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: As the assistant coach, you are responsible for supporting the head coach and maintaining his/her expectations.

  • Practice Planning: Support head coach in designing and implementing effective practice sessions to develop players' skills, improve team cohesion, and strategize for upcoming matches/games/meets.

  • Game Strategy and Coaching: Analyzing opponents, developing game plans, and providing tactical instructions during matches. Making adjustments and substitutions as needed to maximize team performance.

  • Skill Development: Identifying individual player strengths and weaknesses, providing feedback and guidance, and organizing drills and training exercises to enhance players' technical abilities.

  • Physical Conditioning: Working with strength and conditioning coaches to develop training programs that improve players' physical fitness, endurance, and injury prevention.

  • Team Building and Motivation: Fostering a positive team culture, promoting sportsmanship, and building camaraderie among players. Providing encouragement, support, and motivation to boost team morale.

  • Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication channels with players, head coach.

  • Player Evaluation and Development: Support head coach in assessing players' progress, tracking performance statistics, and providing individualized feedback to help players improve their skills and reach their full potential.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring adherence to all relevant rules, regulations, and safety protocols established by the governing bodies and the organization. Promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all team members.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience and familiarity with the designated sport
  • Coaching Experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be capable of physical activity that requires long periods of stand/walking/running
