Our goal is to build competitive teams while fostering character, discipline and integrity in our student-athletes. 

Description:

CCCS is seeking a qualified and motivated coach to lead our High School Cross Country team. The position of coach is an Independent Contractor role for the Fall 2026 season (August 10th - November). The High School Cross Country team typically holds practices every week Monday - Friday from 3:30 to 4:30pm.

The position offers a competitive stipend and the flexibility to help shape and grow a successful cross country program within an expanding athletic department. CCCS is committed to providing student-athletes with high quality coaching across all sports. 

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cross country running, with an emphasis on both technical instruction and fundamentals. Additionally, the ideal coach will bring a collaborative leadership style, strong communication skills, and a broad understanding of training strategies and competitive techniques. The ability to adapt to the team’s needs and emphasize athletes strengths while supporting individual development is essential for success as a coach. 

In addition, a successful coach has an effective leadership style, strong communication with vast knowledge of various approaches and strategies. The coach must have an adaptable approach to the sport highlighting the strengths of the team while encouraging skill development. 

Requirements: 

CPR Certification

Valid CA Driver License 

Willingness to undergo a Live Scan Fingerprinting and complete a TB Test prior to starting work and being paid

Stipend:

The High School Cross Country coach will receive a stipend of $2,450. CCCS coaches are independent contractors receiving a competitive stipend for the season which they coach with possible opportunity for contract extension. Independent contractors are solely responsible for fulfilling their tax obligations.
