    Description

    The Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is currently accepting applications for Camp Counselors. Camp Counselors provide direct supervision of a group of children during day camp. Our staff provide quality experiences and environment for the children and parents. A qualified individual will be energetic, creative, professional, patient and share a love for working with kids.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Create a fun and safe environment for all kids
    • Ability to engage children between 6 years - 12 years of age for extended periods of time
    • Plan, lead, and take part in various indoor and outdoor activities
    • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate weekly and daily activities
    • Follow program requirements and standards for safety and cleanliness
    • Create and maintain relationships with children and parents
    • Communicate effectively with other staff, supervisors, and parents
    • Manage conflict and issues with campers across a multitude of developmental stages
    • Other duties as assigned


    Requirements


    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Criminal background check required prior to hiring
    • Must have proven organization skill
    • Ability to provide high energy, high enthusiasm, and a positive personality each and every day
    • High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college in an educational field preferred
    • Previous experience supervising or working with groups of children; experience in a licensed childcare center preferred but not required
    • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications are current or obtained within 30 days of hire date
    • Must have a passion for working with kids & giving them the best experience possible
    • Must be available to work weekdays between during camp hours (TBD)
