Tripoli Country Club, located in Brown Deer, WI, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Food Runner/Expo! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Position Summary
Tripoli Country Club is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Food Runner / Expo to serve as the critical link between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. This position is responsible for ensuring food is presented correctly, delivered promptly, and served according to club standards. The Expo coordinates communication between cooks, servers, bartenders, and management to maintain smooth service and provide an exceptional dining experience for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Food Expediting
  • Organize and coordinate all food orders leaving the kitchen.
  • Verify that each plate is complete, accurate, and meets presentation standards.
  • Ensure food is delivered promptly to maintain proper temperature and quality.
  • Communicate any modifications, allergies, or special requests to the kitchen and service staff.
  • Maintain ticket organization and prioritize orders during busy periods.

Food Running
  • Deliver food to members and guests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Announce dishes upon delivery and verify guests receive the correct meals.
  • Assist servers with large parties, banquets, and special events.
  • Provide exceptional guest service while interacting with members and guests.
  • Respond quickly to guest requests and communicate needs to the service team.

Quality Control
  • Inspect plates for accuracy, portion size, cleanliness, and presentation before leaving the kitchen.
  • Ensure garnishes, sauces, and accompaniments are included as specified.
  • Monitor food temperatures and report concerns immediately.
  • Uphold Tripoli Country Club's standards for food quality and member satisfaction.

Team Communication
  • Act as the communication hub between the kitchen and dining room.
  • Notify servers when orders are ready.
  • Communicate delays, menu shortages, or kitchen issues to service staff and management.
  • Assist with coordinating timing for multi-course meals and large parties.

Side Work & Cleanliness
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo stations and service areas.
  • Stock necessary service items including plates, utensils, condiments, and garnishes.
  • Assist with polishing silverware and maintaining service stations.
  • Ensure pathways between the kitchen and dining room remain clean and unobstructed.
  • Complete opening, running side work, and closing duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to carry trays and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to move safely between kitchen and dining room throughout the shift.
