JOB SUMMARY
The Food Runner is responsible for the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen to the servers and/or guests. They set the pace and flow of the kitchen to ensure that all dishes are properly prepared and served at the correct temperatures. They also ensure that guests get all their food at the same time, whenever possible, and will suggest service recovery plans where applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages the flow of finished products from the kitchen to the guest
  • Assist in organizing order tickets and proper placement of food on food trays
  • Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure established recipes are adhered to and standards are being met consistently
  • Delivers orders/running food to maintain prompt service to guests
  • Addresses food/beverage or service-related guest issues and utilizes creativity and resources available to maintain optimum satisfaction
  • Uses a hot box for food delivery promptly
  • Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in overall cleanliness
  • Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff
  • Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines, or dishwashing
  • Must be knowledgeable of all health department standards and use good hygiene practices
  • Support bussers/servers in their tasks as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Works on the floor 100% of the time with a "hands-on" mentality for guest service
  • Maintain interpersonal working relationships among all Team Members and the public
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, have a professional attitude, strong organizational and time management skills, and be customer-focused
  • Outstanding coordination and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to navigate stairs for an entire shift
  • Must be able to lift upward of 50lb
  • Knowledge of menu items and service as well as overall restaurant operations
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights
  • Black Non-slip shoes required.

COMPENSATION DATA
This position pays a competitive hourly rate of $15.00.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • One to two years high volume at a Multi-unit operation
  • High school diploma required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
