Recycling Maintenance Specialists are responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment in a plant. This position will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
Shift: 4:00am - 6:00pm M-F
Responsibilities of Position:
  • Track daily work performed via the SAP work tracking process.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustments (s) to ensure proper operation.
  • Makes minor repairs to equipment, such as replacing bearings and return rollers.
  • Perform typical repairs to the plant, including gearbox, pulley, and shaft, and belt replacement.
  • Rebuild and replace shafts in the screeners, excluding the tire shop.
  • Perform lacing repairs to the belts throughout the plant.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required.
  • Regularly uses heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
  • Good time management skills.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to work in a team and assist in plant repairs.
  • Ability to be trained to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, man-lifts, and skid steer loaders.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow LOTO policies and procedures.
  • Must own the necessary hand tools to accomplish work at this level. Metal working tools, MIG welders, and torch sets.
  • Must possess the decision-making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE, and job planning to perform the task safely.
  • Comfortably with various heights.

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience preferred in industrial machinery.
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery.
  • Must be able to lay out metalworking projects.
  • Prior experience and knowledge with industrial electric and welding.
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance.

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:
  • Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs. Frequently up to 20 lbs. Occasionally up to 50 lbs,
  • Continuously working in changing temperatures, areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter.
  • Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable).
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
