Job Description Summary:
Family-Owned, growth-oriented wine and liquor wholesale distributor seeks Portfolio Manager. The correct candidate will have experience in fine wine and liquor with experience on both the distributor and supplier side. Additionally, we are looking for a candidate with over five years' experience in the wine and liquor industry and at least one year of sales experience. Must be prominent in the market, and a knowledgeable sales professional. We are looking for a candidate who has strong communication skills and can build momentum with the salesforce as well as with on-premise and off-premise accounts throughout the Massachusetts market; while focusing on expanding the footprint of the supplier portfolio. Must be willing to visit accounts throughout the state.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:ALL Work with sales leaders to confirm supplier sales goals; communicate supplier goals; and track key supplier programs to keep the sales force informed.
Develop brand plan calendars and incentives to drive sales and communicate progress and program execution.
Updates and maintains sales forecasts on key brands and suppliers to cover programs, including ensuring proper inventory levels.
Manage Pre-Sells, and Allocated Items, as needed, for the assigned portfolio.
Coordinate and manage supplier review meetings, provide written meeting recaps, and communicates follow-up steps internally and externally.
Manage POS orders to support market programs, coordinate new item set up and launches for all sales divisions.
Maintain current list of supplier portfolio contacts.
Survey market with sales management and supplier partners to monitor execution of programs and identify market opportunities on a regular basis.
Attend key meetings with sales leadership and assigned suppliers. Conduct and lead key meetings and business reviews.
Identify real and potential portfolio problems and troubleshoot issues for solutions.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.
3 or more years of related sales experience. Three or more years in a business environment with a beverage alcohol wholesaler or supplier is required. A combination of sales, portfolio management or finance experience preferred.
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Experience with manipulating large amounts of data as well as the ability to quickly learn new systems/tools is necessary.
Excellent presentation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skills required.
Ability to create, maintain and build professional relationships.
Decisive and creative problem solver, with bias for action.
