What You Will Do:
As a Principal Production Test Engineer (PTE), you'll work in a factory supporting multiple programs at different stages of the lifecycle, including transition to production, production ramp-up, depot and involvement in test strategy development for multiple programs. You'll also be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert on Production Test Engineering command media.
In this highly visible role, you'll use Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies to maximize test yield, efficiency and value to influence test strategies, architectures, systems and transition to production.
You'll also validate and ensure compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment and you'll provide technical expertise in resolving complex technical issues, leading improvement projects to increase First Pass Yields and reduce Hours Per Unit.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Validating new or modified test equipment for production use
  • Ensuring the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate and that test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product
  • Monitoring and improving the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure mode and test yields
  • Performing preliminary investigation of problem resolution
  • Developing test flows and contributing to test capacity analysis
  • Maintaining changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals and system software
  • Assisting in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment
  • Participating in root cause and corrective action investigations
  • Providing technical training in both product and test equipment for production test specialists and metrology personnel
  • Training new Production Test Engineers on command media and production processes
  • Participating in design verification and qualification testing

This job is posted as ONSITE and is located at Raytheon's facility at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical/electronic testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting as well as field testing and engineering development testing
  • Experience in transition to production. Low-Rate & High-Rate production
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control
  • Experience developing and implementing production test strategies and Subject Matter Expert on Production Test Engineering command media
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
