Job description

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Richmond, Virginia (VA) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail design projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to passenger, commuter, freight, industrial rail, light rail, and bus rapid transit projects.
  • Various tasks may include concept through final design, exhibit development, program management responsibilities, railroad coordination, and corridor development.
  • This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
  • Candidate will be expected to manage or support managing larger projects including overseeing teams, workload, resources and compliance with scope, schedule, budget, quality and financial performance of projects.
  • Candidate will participate in client management and marketing efforts including business development and help securing additional work.     
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • 6+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:
    • Track/guideway design
    • Transit corridor design
    • Roadway design
    • Station design (beneficial)
    • Drainage design (beneficial)
  • Outgoing, self-motivated team player
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or high level of proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads/OpenRail
  • Experience communicating and working with clients
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects 

Base Salary Range:

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00
