Purpose of Position
Return To Service (RTS) specialist role is to protect the NJA Part 135 operating certificate through a rigorous review of the documentation from aircraft maintenance events to ensure compliance with the NJA General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and all applicable regulations contained in Title 14 CFR (FARs). From this review the completion of inspections and documentation of part changes are updated in the maintenance tracking system, Maintenix. Supervises, in an executive capacity, the maintenance or alteration of aircraft on the NetJets Part 135 Operating certificate. The RTS Specialist is responsible to the RTS Supervisor for the day-to-day operation and any issue they encounter.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Review maintenance provider documentation to ensure complete, correct, and compliant per federal regulations and NetJets GMM. Ensure all maintenance performed is documented and all assigned maintenance has been performed. Release aircraft for use by the operation.
2. Review aircraft weight and balance forms for accuracy and complete the weight and balance update process.
3. Verify component certification eligibility and effectivity for installation on NetJets aircraft.
4. Update and confirm accuracy of tracking for time-limited components in maintenance tracking system.
5. Communicate with maintenance providers and NetJets representatives as necessary related to documentation of maintenance performed.
6. Maintain and update APU usage and placards. Provide maintenance providers with updated values when required.
7. Determine if additional tracking changes are needed based on engineering documentation and submit tracking changes for review when required.
8. Ensure Required Inspection Items (RII) are appropriately documented and performed by authorized individuals.
9. Ensure fully reviewed and accepted maintenance documentation has been successfully submitted to maintenance records for retention.
10. Completes additional projects, campaigns, and initiatives required to enhance company or department goals as assigned by supervisor or manager.
11. Reviews documentation for Major Repairs and Major Alterations to ensure compliance.
