As part of the team at VENGA VENGA by Chef Richard Sandoval, we are looking for a Host who is dedicated to being the face of the restaurant and who makes our wonderful guests feel welcome from the moment they step through the door. Our ideal candidate will:

Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner. Greet and seats guest. Present menus in a kindly, professional and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

1. Greets and seats guests.

2. Presents menus to guests.

3. Informs guests about special menu items.

4. Enhance the experience by treating guests in a friendly and professional manner.

5. Taking reservations and properly executing wait list.

6. Assign tables.

7. Manage the floor plan and flow of business.

8. Effectively use Open Table to ensure accurate guest and reservation information.

9. Keep an organized host area, clean and well stocked.

10. Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.

11. Interacts with guests in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience, thanking them for their visit.

12. If applicable, take fill and process to go orders

13. Maintain restrooms throughout shift.

14. Maintain entrance area clean and free of debris to include mopping

15. Other duties as directed.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge of Job:

Work Environment This job operates in a fast-paced and dynamic restaurant environment. The individual should be comfortable working in a busy and loud environment and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. The individual may be exposed to temperature extremes, grease, food, noise, appliances, and cleaning agents. Hazards include the potential for slipping, tripping, falling, cuts, scrapes, muscle strains and burns, and are present in the kitchen and restaurant. The individual should also be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Able to work standing up and walking during entire shift.

• Able to bend, reach, and stoop frequently

• Carry up to 25 pounds

• Carry 30 to 50 feet of highchairs, up to 10 per shift

• Ability to verbally communicate with guests and phone callers

• Frequent washing of hands

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position is expected to work 35 to 40 hours per week
