Job Details
  • Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Location: Welch
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Schedule: 5ร—8
  • Experience Required: 1 Year
  • Pay Rate: Open to market rate 
Responsibilities
  • Assess, evaluate, and treat patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies
  • Manage and monitor patients requiring mechanical ventilation and non-invasive respiratory support
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
  • Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as appropriate
  • Assist physicians during emergency airway management, intubations, and code situations
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, medications, equipment use, and home care instructions
  • Perform pulmonary function testing and other diagnostic respiratory procedures as required
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and departmental policies
Requirements
  • Active West Virginia State License for Respiratory Therapy
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapy experience
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Current PALS Certification
  • Strong knowledge of ventilator management, emergency respiratory care, and critical care procedures
  • Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients preferred
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
