Job description

Role Summary

The Model Portfolio landscape is one of the fastest growing areas of the Asset Management Industry. T. Rowe Price is actively seeking a client-facing sales professional with a proven track record of managing a territory and owning client relationships to promote Model Portfolios. This individual will be responsible for sales and client relationship management for model portfolio centric advisors. Maintains significant industry experience and proactively researches trends, competitor services/offerings, and clients' business environment.

Oversees assigned prospect and client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, a swift response to client needs, efficient problem resolution. Utilizes deep expertise to proactively identify potential growth opportunities that will help clients achieve their goals. Responsible for the achievement of sales targets for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate the growth of Model Portfolios within a specific territory - Primarily sells the organization's model portfolio offering and services to clients.
  • Be the expert on T. Rowe Price's Model Portfolios and the broader Model Portfolio landscape.
  • Partner with Portfolio Construction Team and Product Strategists to deliver the entirety of the firm.
  • Responsible for significant new business development from strategic prospects. Identifies and qualifies prospects, develops a "trusted advisor" relationship, and influences them to adopt recommended solutions. Evaluates the strategic potential of prospects; develops and executes a plan for capitalizing on those opportunities in the near and long term. Develops in-depth knowledge of the assigned clients, their sensitivities, and their business needs to effectively influence their decision-making. Coordinates sales opportunities for assigned clients across T. Rowe Price business units, as necessary.
  • Partners with marketing team contacts and other sales teams to support the development and refinement of promotional and pitch materials in this emerging focus area for T. Rowe Price. Generates ideas, messages, and tactics for assigned business unit to promote the organization's products and services to client contacts. Coordinates with the request for proposal team to develop innovative responses. Develop and executes relationship management strategy for target engagements to drive sales and ensures successful client relationship performance. Retains direct client management of key clients.
  • Assembles teams across the business unit to deliver tailored presentations based on custom needs of clients. Develops new leads clients and pitches new opportunities.
  • Serves as an expert on best practices, new regulatory requirements, industry trends, and competitor services/offerings throughout the function. Oversees research activities to ensure focus on developing market-based solutions based on client needs. Analyzes highly complex data, trends, plan changes, and strategies to keep up to date with sales/relationship performance. Leverages expertise to interpret and apply highly complex key metrics in advising clients. Applies significant influence, guiding client decision-making on matters of high importance.
  • Negotiates sales across a wide product and services portfolio, engaging the appropriate internal contacts, as directed, to ensure contract requirements are in alignment with organizational policies and standards. Applies considerable latitude in determining optimal approach to meet the needs of T. Rowe Price and the client.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience
  • This role requires FINRA Series 7 & 66 licenses
  • Willingness to regularly travel in sales territory

Preferred:

  • 5+ years Asset Management sales experience including prior experience - Experience selling Model Portfolios preferred
  • Advanced sales, service, and relationship management skills
  • Advanced territory management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
  • Self-directed team player with the ability to work independently

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
