Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technology Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial electronic security and access control systems. This role is responsible for diagnosing technical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the reliable operation of integrated security technologies for commercial and industrial customers.

The ideal candidate has experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion systems, networking, and low-voltage electrical systems. Strong troubleshooting skills, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service are essential.


Key ResponsibilitiesService & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair access control, CCTV, intercom, intrusion alarm, and related low-voltage systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency repairs in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, wiring, and network connectivity issues.
  • Test and verify system functionality after repairs or upgrades.
Installation Support
  • Install and configure new electronic security systems as required.
  • Program and commission access control panels, cameras, readers, intercoms, and network devices.
  • Assist with system upgrades, expansions, and retrofits.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
Networking & Technology
  • Configure IP cameras, NVRs, switches, routers, and network-connected devices.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, PoE devices, and network communications.
  • Configure mobile applications and remote access for customers.
  • Perform firmware and software updates on supported systems.
Customer Service
  • Explain system operation and basic troubleshooting to customers.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, project managers, and office staff.
  • Provide recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance agreements.
  • Complete service reports accurately and document all work performed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
