Job description

Job Type: Full-Time

Days/Hours: 1st

shift: M-F 6am-2:30pm; and 2nd shift M-Th 2:30pm – 1am.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of measuring tools such as tape measure, ruler, and meter gauges.
  • Strong proficiency/ knowledge of hand carpentry tools.
  • Ability to read and follow written directions and technical shop drawings.
  • Measure and cut raw materials such as plywood, particleboard, MDF, sheet plastic, and various hardwoods.
  • Ability to identify woods by species (or variety).
  • Understanding of quality control and time management
  • A comprehensive knowledge and use of routers, table saws, and sliding table saws.
  • Ability to prepare cut lists.
  • Can perform basic maintenance on hand tools and glue pots.
  • If you have a general understanding of signage and graphics materials, substrates, and manufacturing processes then you have a leg up too!

Essential Functions of The Job

  • Glue, fit, clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete units that are square.
  • Install hardware and check for fit.
  • Ability to spray glue, apply laminate, veneer, and sand/file product.
  • Use of power/driver-drill, power nailers, staplers, hand routers, sanders, table saw, miter saw, and jigsaw to perform duties.
  • Maintain a clean work area, and keep the floor clear of debris.
  • Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
  • Perform all job duties using standard safety practices and D|Fab safety standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds of material on a regular basis.
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements
  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the shop

You should be proficient in:

  • Woodworking
  • Tape Measure Reading
  • Finish and Rough Carpentry
