Shore Point Distributing Company, one of New Jersey's largest beverage wholesalers, is seeking a motivated full-time Route Sales Representative to join our Alcoholic Division.
Shore Point Distributing Company is a family-owned beverage distributor located in Freehold, NJ, carrying an extensive portfolio of Beer, Wine, Spirits, and Non-Alcoholic beverages throughout the state, servicing Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Somerset, Warren, Hunterdon, Burlington, Mercer, Union, Essex, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic, Morris, and Sussex counties.
Job Description
The Route Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within an assigned territory by developing strong customer relationships, executing sales initiatives, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and plays a key role in driving sales growth and market presence.
Working with an established territory, the Route Sales Representative partners with retailers to maximize sales opportunities, improve product visibility, execute supplier programs, and maintain a strong market presence throughout the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in assigned accounts.
- Present and execute sales initiatives, pricing programs, and promotions.
- Manage an assigned sales route and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly account activities.
- Identify opportunities to grow volume, distribution, and market share within assigned accounts.
- Ensure proper merchandising, shelf positioning, displays, pricing, and point-of-sale materials in accordance with company and supplier standards.
- Utilize available sales tools and resources to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth.
- Manage account inventories and replenishment orders to minimize out-of-stocks.
- Maintain quality control standards through inventory rotation, code-date management, and package integrity procedures.
- Attend scheduled sales meetings, supplier events, work-withs, promotions, and training programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve account concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate account information, including account status, delivery requirements, and customer profiles.
- Prepare and submit sales reports, surveys, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain company-issued equipment and all assigned company property in good standing.
- Maintain all ABC-required documentation, including transit permits, solicitor permits, invoices, sampling logs, and sample stickers.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer needs are met and service levels are maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of sales, account management, customer service, or beverage industry experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals and effectively manage a territory.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- Must obtain and maintain eligibility for a Solicitor Permit issued by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Vehicle & Territory Requirements
This position requires daily travel throughout an assigned sales territory. Employees utilize their personal vehicle and participate in the Company's vehicle reimbursement program. Candidates must maintain an acceptable driving record and required insurance coverage.

Work Schedule
This position is typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with working hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Occasional mandatory weekend overtime may be required, with advance notice provided.
