Job description

Transportation Network Optimization Engineer

We're looking for a Transportation Network Design Engineer to help shape the future of our transportation and final-mile delivery network.

This role sits at the intersection of transportation, supply chain, analytics, and engineering. You will use data, modeling, and operational insights to design more efficient transportation networks, optimize routing strategies, improve fleet utilization, and identify opportunities to reduce cost while enhancing service performance.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Transportation, Operations, Sales, Final Mile, IT, and executive leadership to influence strategic decisions impacting our distribution and delivery network.

Hybrid (Dallas, TX Preferred) Travel: Up to 10%

What You'll Do

  • Design and optimize transportation networks supporting inbound, outbound, final-mile, and dedicated fleet operations.
  • Analyze transportation costs, service metrics, capacity requirements, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop routing, transportation, and distribution strategies that improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Perform network modeling, scenario analysis, and capacity planning to support business growth and changing customer demands.
  • Evaluate current-state transportation processes and design future-state transportioan and routing models.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and IT to implement transportation solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and analytical tools that provide actionable insights for operational and executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline logistics, distribution, and final-mile operations.
  • Support strategic transportation initiatives, including route optimization, carrier strategy, network expansion, and delivery model design.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, optimize workflows, improve system utilization, and develop scalable solutions that increase efficiency across transportation and supply chain operations

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain engineering, network design, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of transportation networks, routing, distribution operations, final mile, and fleet optimization.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or Coupa.
  • Ability to perform scenario modeling, optimization, forecasting, and transportation analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to transform complex data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
