Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will optimize production processes, ensure accurate manufacturing documentation, and support production planning through efficient resource utilization. This role includes creating and maintaining manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs), improving workflows, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Manufacturing BOM Management:

Own creation, validation, and maintenance of MBOMs and BOOs in ERP to enable accurate production planning.

Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives to improve productivity, reduce cost, and enhance quality.

Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), assessing impact and coordinating effective implementation with Supply Chain.

3. Process Optimization:

Develop and sustain efficient manufacturing workflows aligned with best practices.

Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs.

Analyze production metrics to improve scheduling and material flow.

4. Continuous Improvement:

Identify bottlenecks and lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives to boost throughput and minimize waste.

Champion cross-functional improvement projects across Planning, Purchasing, Material Handling, Finishing, Machine Shop, and Assembly.

5. Cross-Functional Support:

Partner with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues.

Support platform reviews and planning optimization to meet lead time and cost targets.

6. Technology & Safety:

Recommend and implement automation and tooling enhancements.

Act as SME for MES and BOM integration tools.

Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Skills:

Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma expertise

ERP/MRP expertise across diverse manufacturing models (ETO/MTO/ATO/MTS)

MES and CadLink familiarity

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical drawing interpretation

Deep understanding of fabrication, assembly, machining, and routing principles

Materials management and raw material application knowledge

Labor estimation and workflow optimization

Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management

Highly organized with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3+ years experience.
