With a commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability, GET Freight is proud to operate advanced Hydrogen Fuel Cell trucks in our OAK Team. We are now seeking skilled, safety-focused Local Company Drivers to join our Oakland port drayage operations.


Position Summary

The Company Driver (Port Drayage) is responsible for safe, on-time, and efficient transport of containers between the Port of Oakland and destinations within a 300~ 400-mile round trip radius in the East Bay area. This position offers home daily schedules, competitive hourly pay, and the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art clean energy trucks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport containers between the Port of Oakland and local/regional destinations.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with FMCSA/DOT requirements.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, trip sheets, and required paperwork.
  • Safely navigate port facilities and comply with all port regulations.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication with dispatch and operations teams.
  • Safely operate company-owned chassis and equipment.
  • Handle basic cargo securement and equipment checks as needed.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and all applicable federal/state regulations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $35/hour (with verified port drayage experience)
  • Paid W-2 with weekly direct deposit

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday (5 days/week), Home daily
  • Occasional Saturday/Sunday work available

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 years verifiable CDL driving experience
  • At least 23 years old
  • Current TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Good driving record (MVR)
  • Must meet all FMCSA/DOT driver qualification requirements
  • Ability to handle physical workload as required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
  • Flexible schedule for occasional weekend work
  • Port registration required (company assistance available)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous port drayage experience
  • Familiarity with Oakland port operations and East Bay routes
  • Experience with zero-emission or alternative fuel trucks
  • Job type: Full-time, Contract
