Your role

Teamwork is one of your strengths, and you want to contribute to a concrete mission at the heart of maritime transportation? In this key role, you will support operations by ensuring the safe transit of vessels, remotely controlling locks and bridges, performing electrical maintenance, and assisting during breakdown interventions.

Your responsibilities

  • Complete and record work orders related to maintenance, and respond to breakdowns to minimize navigation interruptions;
  • Perform all activities related to vessel transit and infrastructure, including locks and bridges equipments operations, vessel mooring, and water level monitoring;
  • Record and maintain vessel passage data in electronic systems;
  • Carry out all tasks related to internal maintenance and civil engineering work within the lock sector;
  • Perform all activities related to the safety of operational facilities, in compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Your profile

  • Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP) in Electricity from Quebec, or a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent in Ontario;
  • Hold a valid electrician certification (Licence C in Quebec, Licence 309A - Construction and Maintenance Electrician, or 442A - Industrial Electrician in Ontario);
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment, particularly in maintenance of control systems and electrical equipment, with hands-on experience in programmable logic controllers (PLC) and variable speed drives;
  • Strong knowledge of soft starters, variable speed drives, Ethernet, remote I/O devices, and fiber optic communication methods and equipment;
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (relay logic and IEC language) and operator workstation software;
  • Understanding of procedures, rules, regulations, standards, and safe work practices applicable to task execution;
  • Sound judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make appropriate decisions;
  • Eligible for marine transportation security clearance;
  • Availability to undergo a medical examination, functional capacity evaluation, and drug screening test;
  • Valid driver's license (Class G in Ontario or Class 5 in Quebec) and an insurable driving record;
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts (day and night);
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, near open water, and in deep areas;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Proficiency with computer programs and related software (MS Office and SAP).
