About The Opportunity

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining, diagnosing,
troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance following corporate standards for quality and safety.

Essential Functions

Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment

Troubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity/quality standards

Control downtime by communicating with all departments

Assist in the setup and tear down of production lines

Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement

Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments

Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories; conserve resources when able

Responsible for facility maintenance

Prepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs

Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification

Level Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Level Desired: Technical degree

Work Experience

Required: Prior technical experience

Desired: A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

2. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

3. Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including initial training on 1st shift and regular assignment to 2nd shift

4. Ability to effectively work in teams

5. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

6. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

7. Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills

8. Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests

9. Ability to operate and understand measuring equipment such as: standard or metric tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter)

10. Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions

11. Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines

12. Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines

13. Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools

Essential To The Position

The anticipated hourly range for the position is $26.00 - $35.00, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for a success share bonus and benefits package.
