The Baking Intern supports the culinary team with the preperation, baking, finishing and presentation of baked goods, pastris, desserts and other menu items in a professional, high-volume catering kitchen.This hands-on learning opportunity provides practical experience in commercial baking and pastry production. The intern will work under the direction of experienced culinary staff while developing skills in recipe preperation, baking techniques, food presentation, kitchen organization, sanitation and food safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and production of baked goods, pastries, desserts, and other menu items according to established recipes and production standards.Measure, weigh, mix, portion, and prepare ingredients accurately.Assist with baking, finishing, decorating, plating, and presentation of products.Learn the proper use and care of commercial baking and kitchen equipment.Follow recipes, production schedules, portion guidelines, and supervisor instructions.Properly label, date, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and workplace safety procedures.Assist with kitchen setup, breakdown, cleaning, and other production needs as assigned.Work cooperatively with culinary team members and demonstrate a positive, professional attitude.Perform other related duties as assigned.
