Job description

Maintenance Technician – Roggen Processing 

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician for our Roggen, CO egg processing plant. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Maintenance Lead with other projects and duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s
  • Keep equipment running and operational during processing hours
  • Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of general production machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Have basic SQF knowledge and understanding
  • Adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Procedures

Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

  • Fast paced work environment.
  • Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis.
  • Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb.

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or days when necessary
  • Prior experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance within a manufacturing environment
