Velvet Touch Rose Care-Seasonal Rose Care Technician

We are a Rose Care Specialty company looking to bring on a new seasonal (full-time March-Dec) member to our team. Based out of Damascus, MD we service a wide range of rose gardens in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C.

As a Rose Technician it is your responsibility to maintain, install, and observe our rose gardens. Once trained the technician is expected to operate in the field independently to ensure the health of our client’s roses is maintained.

Requirements:

Enthusiastic and independent individual able to follow instructions and timelines

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Be able to be trained to safely apply plant protectants to the rose garden

Capable of learning and identifying various diseases and pest that directly impact roses

Individual must be observant and capable of working efficiently while assessing the rose gardens

Communicate with clients about the work completed or any issues observed with their roses

Installations can be labor intensive including moving of compost, potted plants, removal of sod, mulching rose gardens, etc

Attention to detail is required for shaping and training a variety of rose bushes

Safely Operate trucks and equipment (sod cutters, tiller)

Work hours vary throughout the season. Start/end times change depending on weather conditions

Work 40+ hours a week throughout the season (March-Dec)

Eligible for benefits after 90 days (Health, Dental, 401(K))

Ability to lift over 50lbs multi times a day

Work in variety of weather conditions

Proficient in understanding and speaking English

Show up on time each day

Experience required:

Preferably have experience/interest in the landscaping or horticultural industry

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Associates (preferred)

Pay:

$20-$26.00 an hour based on experience
