Job description

Junior Level Data Processing Engineer

Voxelmaps is seeking to hire Junior Level Data Processing Engineers to support our data processing and mapping operations. This role will focus on handling, transforming, and validating large datasets generated from mapping systems. This is a full-time role with an immediate start date. Candidates are required to have strong experience working in Linux environments, the ability to read and modify Python scripts, and hands-on experience working with Docker containers and Git version control. Selected candidates will be involved in executing and maintaining data processing workflows, troubleshooting pipeline issues, and supporting our data operations team. You must live in Austin, Texas or be willing to relocate – as we have business operations in these locations.

    • Managing images
    • Retrieving logs
    • Understanding volume mounts
  • Working knowledge of Git:
    • Checkout and commit workflows
    • Basic branching
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and follow structured workflows

Good to have:

  • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Dagster, Apache Airflow, or Prefect
  • Experience using AWS CLI (S3 data upload/download)
  • Familiarity with PDAL and point cloud data processing
  • Experience with ROS, including command-line tools such as rosbag

Preferred Background:

  • 2+ years of experience in data processing, data engineering, or similar technical roles
  • Experience working with large datasets or data pipelines
  • Experience supporting production-level data workflows
