Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Business Development / Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities by developing relationships with potential referral partners, including but not limited to, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, etc. This role focuses on sourcing and developing new production opportunities, promoting the company’s products and programs, and maintaining strong relationships within the local business communities and agency partners.

The Business Development / Sales Rep acts as the primary field contact to identify and create opportunities and works closely with the Inside Sales team who will quote, underwrite and assist in binding new policies. The position is responsible for building referral pipelines, generating new business submissions, and supporting the agency to grow profitable business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospect, solicit, and develop relationships to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify and cultivate new production sources consistent with company strategy and growth objectives.
  • Generate qualified submissions and coordinate with the Inside Sales team for quoting and binding.
  • Develop and execute to increase agency engagement and premium growth.
  • Conduct and/or attend visits, presentations, training sessions, and networking events.
  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and agency meetings when requested by management.
  • Track agency activity, submissions, and production results within assigned territory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve agency engagement and premium growth.
  • Support agency partners in achieving production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
  • Proven Account and Project Management skills required to create, maintain, and enhance partner/customer relationships
  • Florida 2-20 license required.
  • Maintain a clean professional appearance to instill confidence in the business community and consistent with agency Employee Manual
  • Have dependable transportation to regularly visit business opportunities in a face-to-face manner on a regular basis
  • Field travel in set territory and at times, throughout Florida, if/when required.
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively with minimum supervision, Interact with people of all types and personalities, identify root causes of problems and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees or customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Salesforce and other related business software.
