Server Assistants (SA's) are dynamic hospitality professionals responsible for bussing and cleaning all customer tables while aiding Servers with steps of service. SA's are paired with Servers in assigned sections of the restaurant. SA's should never leave the floor without informing their Server and Management.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based and brewed coffee beverages using commercial-grade equipment.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other barista tools in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels for coffee, milk, syrups, and barista supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
  • Follow all recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency in every beverage served.
  • Support beverage prep and drink running duties in collaboration with the bar team and assigned Server.
  • Maintain a clean and organized barista station at all times, including wiping down surfaces and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Assist with quality control checks on all coffee-related items leaving the barista station.
  • Complete any additional barista-related side work as assigned during setup and breakdown.
  • Complete all assigned side work related to setup and breakdown of the coffee and tea station, dish pit area, dining room, and service hutches.
  • Provide enthusiastic hellos and goodbyes to all incoming and departing customers.
  • Provide exceptional service and hospitality to every customer.
  • Greet all tables with beverage lists, explain offerings, and provide the beverage menu format. Offer a choice of bottled or filtered water and ensure selections are rung in and communicated with the section server.
  • Mark tables with correct utensils once table orders are taken. Inform customers of the food items being delivered to their table.
  • Run drinks from the bar to the assigned customer by table and position number.
  • Clear dirty dishes and glassware from tables with elegance and finesse.
  • Assist Servers to consistently deliver a quality experience for customers.
  • Proactively communicate any pertinent table information to the assigned Server, including special occasions or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Verify food delivery accuracy and quality-check customer needs.
  • Assist customers with boxing up food and other support as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of coffee station, water station, refrigerators, and dining room.
  • Assist with dish and glassware disposal as needed.
  • Provide water, tea, and coffee service to customers throughout the night.
  • Adhere to safety and health standards set forth by the Department of Health.
  • Maintain service tools including trays, silverware, plate ware, glassware, scissors, and tongs.
  • Train new employees as assigned.
  • Assist other stations or areas of the restaurant when requested by management.

Qualifications:
  • Must have the ability to read, speak, understand, follow written directions, and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be reachable by email and able to communicate via phone as well.

  • Food Handler's Certification or the ability to obtain in accordance with federal, state, or local regulations and/or Company policy.

  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Certification for responsible alcohol service or ability to obtain within 6 months.
