Commercial Roofing EDGE Estimator

Lexington / Louisville, KY | Full-Time | In-Person
Base Salary: Up to $130,000 + Incentive Opportunities

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing EDGE Estimator to support a growing commercial roofing operation throughout the Lexington and Louisville markets. Hands-on experience using The EDGE estimating software is required for consideration.

This individual will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for commercial roofing projects, including new construction, re-roofing, replacements, restoration, and coatings.

The ideal candidate has a strong commercial roofing background, is highly proficient with The EDGE, understands the full estimating process from takeoff through proposal, and can effectively partner with sales, operations, project management, general contractors, vendors, and customers.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize The EDGE estimating software to perform detailed takeoffs, quantify materials and labor, and develop accurate commercial roofing estimates.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, bid documents, and technical drawings to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, overhead, and other project expenses.
  • Estimate a mix of new construction, re-roofing, replacement, restoration, and coating projects.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections as needed to verify existing conditions and project requirements.
  • Manage multiple bids while consistently meeting estimating deadlines.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor, manufacturer, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Utilize historical project data to improve estimating accuracy and profitability.
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals, budgets, and cost comparisons.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Project Management throughout the preconstruction and project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors and customers throughout the Kentucky market.
  • Follow up on outstanding bids and maintain visibility into project status and award decisions.
  • Stay current on commercial roofing systems, material pricing, building codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry trends.
  • Continuously improve estimating processes, accuracy, efficiency, and overall bid strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
  • Proficiency using The EDGE estimating software is REQUIRED.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Experience estimating low-slope roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, coatings, and related systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
  • Experience performing detailed digital takeoffs and preparing complete project estimates.
  • Strong understanding of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, General Contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related estimating technology.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

Preferred Experience

  • Established relationships with General Contractors throughout Lexington, Louisville, and surrounding Kentucky markets.
  • Experience with both negotiated and competitive-bid commercial roofing projects.
  • Shop drawing experience utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
