Job description

Tecta America Seattle, a commercial roofing contractor, provides a full range of roofing services, including commercial and industrial roofing, re-roofs, leak repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and 24/7 service. In addition, we offer roofing services in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

The Estimator/Project Manager will provide comprehensive support to sales and project teams through estimation of costs based on specifications established by the project. The Estimator/Project Manager will effectively communicate with sales and project teams by providing information, answering questions and assisting local contacts with questions and concerns.
Once estimating is complete and sale is made, the estimator/project manager will oversee all aspects of the project to achieve and maintain budgetary, productivity, quality, and safety initiatives. This position will be responsible for leading and promoting continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement techniques. This position will report to the President.

Job Functions
Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for projects assigned.
Estimate job costs and submit proposals for review.
Understand all processes of job from acquisition to fulfillment.
Review and approve invoices, material slips, purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to verify accuracy
Handle all estimating duties to include bids, pricing, and change orders.
Maintain Bid Calendar
Maintain/ periodically update default supplier price lists
Visit jobs, attend pre-bid meetings
Secure pricing from suppliers
Maintain bid results & statistics
Review Notice to Proceeds/ Contracts for scope & price accuracy
Set up jobs (Project Information Sheets, Budgets, Pricing Sheets, Schedule of Values, Job Hand-Off Forms)
Develop relationships with owners, contractors, & suppliers
Resolve disputes with clients and past due accounts efficiently
Maintain and protect all company equipment, vehicles, and Company policies.
Track labor and material costs of jobs.
Field customer requests, questions and complaints.
Oversee commercial roofing production crews.
Develop leads and promote the department's services.
Review purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to verify intended scope of work and to assure that company policies are not compromised.
Purchase materials as necessary and maintain department inventory and price material inventory slips.
Increase revenue by monitoring labor and material costs.
Provide effective leadership for the production department, i.e. teamwork, motivation, and positive employee relations.
Submit budget and capital expenditure requests as needed.
Work with prime and subcontractors on all phases of projects including schedules, change orders, and submittals.
Direct customer questions, complaints, and requests appropriately. Perform field inspections and investigations as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
Minimum three (3) years of construction industry experience with emphasis on all facets of business including but not limited to customer relations,
Other critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure in a timely manner, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
Strong attention to detail
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Must have a valid driver's license
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortable visiting actual job sites about 50% of the time (without fear of heights)
Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Knowledge of business and management principles
Knowledge of project management software, specifically Viewpoint

Working Conditions

Domestic Travel: Occasional, for purposes of training in operating units
Extensive Hours: Not subject to overtime

Starting pay ranges from $75k-90k, based on experience and qualifications.
