Roofing Insurance information

What are common challenges faced by professionals working in roofing insurance, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in roofing insurance often encounter challenges such as accurately assessing roof damage, differentiating between storm-related issues and pre-existing wear, and managing claims fraud. Staying updated on roofing materials, building codes, and the latest inspection technologies is crucial for accurate evaluations. Collaborating closely with contractors, adjusters, and policyholders can help clarify claim details and ensure fair outcomes. Ongoing training and clear communication are key strategies for addressing these common hurdles.

What is roofing insurance?

Roofing insurance is a specialized type of business insurance designed for roofing contractors and companies. It typically includes general liability coverage, workers’ compensation, and sometimes commercial auto insurance, all tailored to the unique risks faced in the roofing industry. This insurance protects roofing professionals from financial losses due to accidents, property damage, bodily injuries, and legal claims that may occur during roofing projects. Having roofing insurance is often required by law or by clients to ensure safety and accountability. It also helps roofing businesses maintain credibility and trust with customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in roofing insurance?

To succeed in roofing insurance, you need a solid understanding of property insurance policies, claims assessment, and roofing systems, often supported by experience in insurance or construction and relevant licensing. Familiarity with claims management software, estimating tools like Xactimate, and industry regulations is typically required. Strong negotiation, attention to detail, and customer service skills set top professionals apart in this field. These competencies ensure accurate claims processing, client satisfaction, and compliance with industry standards.

Job description

Roofing Insurance Restoration Sales Representative
$150K-$250K+ Expected Earnings | Top Performers $400K+
Office Location: Rockville, MD
Presidential Exteriors is one of the fastest-growing exterior remodeling companies in the Mid-Atlantic, recognized by the Washington Business Journal and ranked #67 on Qualified Remodeler's Top 500.
What matters here is simple:
  • You can make real money. Our structure is built so you can focus on selling, not chasing supplements or managing jobs.
  • We have the backend dialed in. In-house supplementation, dedicated install crews, and real support so you can move faster and close more.
  • We're growing. This isn't a seat-filling role, there's real opportunity to build and scale your book.
  • Performance drives everything. If you produce, you win.

Most reps come here because they're tired of being slowed down somewhere else. If you want to sell more, earn more, and deal with less friction, this is it.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing residential and commercial insurance restoration projects
  • Work with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and internal teams throughout the restoration process
  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, canvassing, and referrals
  • Coordinate with our in-house supplementation and installation teams to support project execution
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Sales representatives assist homeowners through the restoration process but do not act as licensed public adjusters.
What We're Looking For:
  • 1+ year of insurance restoration or storm damage sales experience preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and performance driven
  • Ability to manage your own pipeline and sales activities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must have or be willing to obtain necessary equipment (ladder, appropriate boots, etc.)

This role is ideal for independent sales professionals who are confident, disciplined, and motivated by performance-based earnings.
What We Offer:
  • Uncapped commission structure - Earnings are commission-based and vary based on performance. Top performers have historically earned $400K+
  • In-house supplementation team supporting insurance claim documentation
  • Dedicated installation teams so you can focus on sales
  • Promote-from-within culture based on performance
  • Ongoing sales and leadership training
  • Annual leadership conferences
  • Company incentive trips including Cancun, Dubai, Greece, and Turks & Caicos

Our Vision: Improvement in Every Way. We strive to continuously improve:
  • Our customers' homes
  • Our team members' careers and lives
  • Our systems and processes
  • Ourselves as people and leaders
  • Our company culture - Because when the standard rises, everything else follows

This is a 1099 independent contractor role. You control your schedule, your pipeline, and your income.
Why Presidential Exteriors?
Because we believe that great customer experiences start with great employee experiences. We put employees first, build trust through integrity, and win through culture. At Presidential, we believe in building leaders, rewarding performance, and creating opportunities for individuals who are driven to succeed. If you're ready to grow personally, professionally, and financially, we want to hear from you.
Apply today and build a future you're proud of.
Presidential Exteriors is an equal opportunity organization. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members and independent sales representatives.
