Job Summary

The Facilities Supervisor will oversee the operation of the facilities and maintenance department and upkeep of the facility. The Facilities Supervisor will maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the physical plant, including interior and exterior, and related building systems for all properties, Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervise and schedule full-time maintenance and cleaning staff.
  • Direct all carpentry work, painting, electrical, engineering and cleaning/custodial services, including preventive and repair maintenance.
  • Work in conjunction with Manufacturing Supervisors to provide support for manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections and preventative maintenance programs in the CMMS program. Generate periodic facilities performance and maintenance reports for management review.
  • Aid the development of building maintenance and safety procedures manuals.
  • Supervise outside vendor performance to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • General maintenance tasks include maintaining, monitoring and making minor repairs to building equipment and systems, including but not limited to, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall/painting and lighting.
  • Light shoveling of doorways & walkways.
  • Act as back-up to Facilities Manager when necessary.
  • Assign maintenance requests; complete written and/or electronic work orders as necessary.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of building and grounds; submit required inspection reports.
  • Respond to emergency service calls after hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Enforce building rules and regulations where applicable.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties in accordance with established programs; make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.


Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must have technical, vocational, or on the job training in HVAC.
  • Minor electrical and plumbing, light carpentry, and routine preventative maintenance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, Fire Safety, steam heating, plumbing, electrical and roofing systems.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Be familiar with electronic work order and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Able to prioritize in a high-volume environment under tight deadlines, controlled budgets, and time constraints.
  • Should have experience managing budgets and achieving competitive pricing with suppliers/vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and great organizational skills are a must.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays to service a 24 hour/7 day per week operation as needed.


Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience with building operations.
