Commercial Roofing Superintendent

Lexington, KY | Full-Time | In-Person
$80,000 – $110,000 Base Salary + Incentive Opportunities
New Construction & Re-Roof

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to join a growing team in Lexington, Kentucky. This individual will oversee field production for commercial roofing projects, providing leadership to Foremen and crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong commercial roofing leader who enjoys being in the field, developing crews, solving problems, and taking ownership of successful project execution.

What You'll Do

Field Operations & Project Oversight

  • Oversee commercial roofing field operations for new construction and re-roof projects.
  • Visit active job sites regularly to monitor safety, quality, manpower, productivity, and project progress.
  • Lead and support Foremen, roofing crews, and subcontractors across multiple projects.
  • Ensure crews have the information, materials, equipment, and manpower needed to complete projects successfully.
  • Monitor project schedules and daily production to keep jobs on track and within budget.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers regarding schedules, manpower, materials, job progress, and potential issues.
  • Identify and resolve field challenges before they impact schedules, quality, or profitability.
  • Participate in project planning, progress reviews, manufacturer inspections, and project close-outs.

Crew Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Commercial Roofing Foremen and field personnel.
  • Establish clear expectations around safety, productivity, quality, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Assist with manpower planning and ensure the appropriate number of employees and skill sets are assigned to each project.
  • Train and develop Foremen and crew members to improve overall field performance.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment built around communication, safety, discipline, and quality workmanship.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all field operations comply with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct and participate in job-site safety meetings, inspections, and audits.
  • Reinforce proper PPE, fall protection, ladder safety, and commercial roofing safety requirements.
  • Monitor installations to ensure manufacturer specifications and project requirements are being followed.
  • Inspect completed work and proactively address quality concerns.
  • Participate in manufacturer final inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.

Project & Customer Coordination

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure materials, tools, equipment, and other resources are available when needed.
  • Communicate job progress, delays, field conditions, and changes in scope to Project Management.
  • Ensure potential change orders are properly documented and communicated.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and General Contractors throughout each project.
  • Assist with final project documentation, warranties, inspections, and close-out requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily reports regarding project progress, manpower, safety, material usage, and field conditions.
  • Ensure Foremen complete required reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Document safety concerns, quality issues, delays, and changes in project scope.
  • Provide regular project updates to Project Managers and Operations leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial roofing experience required.
  • Previous experience as a Commercial Roofing Superintendent, General Superintendent, Production Superintendent, or experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, metal roofing, and related systems.
  • Experience overseeing commercial new construction and re-roof projects.
  • Proven ability to lead Foremen and commercial roofing crews.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and commercial roofing safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, project documents, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of commercial roofing installation methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, and priorities.
  • Comfortable utilizing technology for daily reporting and project tracking.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Manufacturer-specific roofing certifications
  • Experience managing multiple crews and large-scale commercial projects
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
