Job description

The Roofing Sales Representative serves as a trusted advisor to homeowners by identifying roofing and exterior restoration opportunities, educating customers on available solutions, and guiding them through the project process from initial consultation to contract signing. This role is ideal for a sales professional who enjoys meeting people, building trust, generating new business, and helping homeowners navigate insurance restoration claims, Fortified grant opportunities, and retail replacement projects. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, follow-up, organization, and the ability to consistently generate and manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle.

Pay:

  • Base Pay: $36,000 to $48,000 annually
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $50,000 to $90,000 in the first year (based on the base pay plus an average commission of $5,000 to $10,000 per month)
  • High Earners: Potential for significantly higher income via uncapped/unlimited commission $120,000+

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business opportunities through outbound phone calls, networking, referrals, community involvement, and field marketing activities.
  • Follow up on company-provided leads in a timely and professional manner.
  • Generate self-sourced opportunities through relationship building and proactive outreach.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and consistently work toward monthly sales goals.
  • Meet with homeowners to assess roofing and exterior improvement needs.
  • Perform property inspections and identify storm damage, aging systems, and restoration opportunities.
  • Educate homeowners on available solutions, including insurance restoration projects, Fortified roofing grant programs, retail roofing replacements, and exterior remodeling services.
  • Present recommendations tailored to each homeowner's situation and goals.
  • Answer customer questions and provide guidance throughout the decision-making process.
  • Follow the company's proven sales process and customer communication standards.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments with prospective customers.
  • Prepare and present estimates, proposals, and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM software.
  • Track leads, appointments, follow-ups, inspections, and sales opportunities.
  • Ensure all customer information and project documentation is properly maintained.
  • Build trust and credibility with homeowners through honest communication and professional service.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
  • Guide customers through project approval and pre-construction processes.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Help create a positive customer experience that generates referrals and repeat business.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of construction sales, roofing sales, insurance restoration sales, home improvement sales, or related outside sales experience.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and generating new business opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform roof and exterior inspections safely.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn CRM software.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in roofing, exterior remodeling, insurance restoration, or construction sales.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as JobNimbus.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims processes.
  • Familiarity with Fortified roofing programs.
  • Experience with direct sales, outside sales, or commission-based sales environments.
