Job description

Description:Position Summary

Tikra Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Commercial Roofing Estimator to support our growing pipeline of commercial projects. This role is responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate bids, and supporting the sales and operations teams with timely, data-driven estimates. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Some travel to job sites is required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Takeoff & Estimating:
    Analyze blueprints, project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to create accurate roofing estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and sub costs.
  • Bid Management:
    Prepare and submit bids in accordance with bid deadlines. Track active bids and follow up with general contractors, developers, or internal sales teams.
  • Scope Development:
    Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to define scopes of work and identify any exclusions, alternates, or value-engineered options.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination:
    Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Review and evaluate proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Job Walks & Site Visits:
    Conduct pre-bid site visits as needed to assess site conditions, access, measurements, and potential risks. Travel may be required based on job location.
  • CRM & Estimate Tracking:
    Maintain accurate records of bids, win/loss outcomes, and estimating metrics in company CRM and estimating software systems.
  • Handoff to Operations:
    Work with project managers to ensure a smooth handoff of awarded projects, including budget clarity, scope alignment, and material needs.

Requirements:Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in estimating commercial roofing projects  
  • Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, mod-bit, coatings, etc.)  
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specs, and bid packages  
  • Experience with digital takeoff software (e.g., Edge, PlanSwift, or similar)  
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and estimating platforms  
  • Detail-oriented with strong math and analytical skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication  
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites when needed
