Description

Empower Solar is a full service, residential solar installer looking for experienced and driven individuals to join our ever-expanding team. We are currently looking for a full-time Roof Lead Installer. The Roof Lead will work under the Crew lead and will provide leadership and technical expertise to the installation teams.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Has the ability to lead a crew on the roof while practicing Safety, Quality & Efficiency
  • Ability to read and follow engineered solar plans that are given for installation
  • Perform typical roof top residential electrical according to design
  • Required to be able to bend conduit with accuracy and precision.
  • Responsible for panel lay out and following approved plans to ensure the modules are placed and fit per plans to successfully complete the roof installation.
  • Successfully locate the roof rafters to mount solar footings with accuracy.
  • Seal and flash the solar mounts to ensure penetrations are rain tight.
  • Lead the roof installation and crews with excellent direction to assure productivity.
  • Must understand electrical wiring, from panel wire management to junction box, running and fastening jumpers and ensure project wire management is executed in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to train and develop an efficient installation roof top crew.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist crew lead with procuring job-site photos during and at the end of each installation
  • Other tasks duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years' solar installation experience in both commercial and residential applications
  • Knowledge of basic residential and commercial roof top installation
  • Minimum 1 year of leading a crew of 3 or more
  • Ability to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.)
  • Capable of standing for long stretches of time and working at heights (on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs)
  • Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in the construction and solar industries, such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
  • Self-motivated with an attention to productivity, detail and safety
  • Ability to read basic solar and electrical plans
  • Strong work ethic and excellent communication and documentation skills

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Must be able to operate a pallet jack and forklift. Have to ability to listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 75 pounds.
