Ron Tonkin Honda is seeking a Body Shop Estimator to join our dynamic team. Our collision center is always busy, and there is plenty of work to go around! Working as our Body Shop Estimator, you would be providing our clients with quotes for possible collision repairs and top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate would have prior automotive estimating experience with a proven track record.

Body Shop Estimator Job Responsibilities

  • Assess and estimate the cost of repairs for damaged vehicles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and guidelines
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify all necessary repairs and replacements
  • Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, including parts, labor, and materials required for each repair
  • Collaborate with insurance adjusters, customers, and repair technicians to discuss repair options, obtain approvals, and answer any related inquiries
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to document and track estimates, repairs, and work progress
  • Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with insurance providers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and services
  • Stay updated with industry trends, repair techniques, and manufacturer specifications to provide accurate estimates and recommendations
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and processing billing information

Body Shop Estimator Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or a related field is preferred

  • Proven experience as a Collision Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts, and labor costs
  • Proficient in using computerized estimating systems and software
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and repair technicians
  • Familiarity with insurance policies and procedures is an asset
  • Certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is desirable but not mandatory

Corporate Hiring Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
