Job Responsibilities

Ensure that your assigned crew:

  • Sets up the production equipment and supplies before executing job orders.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Operates equipment safely and effectively for production processing. Crew members should be adequately equipped with PPE and other safety tools/training to complete the assigned work.
  • Ensures that equipment is maintained in a good and safe working condition.
  • Inspects equipment to identify any required replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
  • Monitors the process outcome to ensure production capacity, quality, and timeliness.
  • Supports operators/tool preps in their assigned responsibilities.
  • Evaluates equipment performance and recommends improvements.
  • Operates, if needed, trucks, cranes, and other industrial vehicles to transfer goods and/or equipment.
  • Recommends process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Ensures crew contributes to waste management programs and monitors environmental precautions and responds immediately if required (spills, etc.).
  • Identifies and reports unsafe operations to crew members and HRM Manager immediately.ย  Stops work if needed.
  • Inspects the work area and ensures it is clean, safe, and organized; Participate in plant 5S and Lean manufacturing programs as well as all continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensures that crop buckets are removed and dumped in a safe, timely manner before the max weight has been reached.
  • Responsible for ensuring all crew members assigned are trained in all tasks and evaluates individual members on performance via timely, objective reviews.

General Qualifications:

  • Supports enforcement of all Facility Safety Programs, particularly LOTO and fall prevention programs. Responsible for participating in safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals and expectations.
  • Understanding of automated manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and any schedule to fulfill facility/customer needs.
  • Excellent working of area SOPs and work instructions.

Quality:

  • Excellent knowledge of quality requirements and specifications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify quality nonconformance's and notifies HRM Manager of issues.
  • Understands and applies customer specifications to the operation of the machine to assure finished goods comply with customer requirements. Perform in-process quality inspections and/or tests, identifying defects, and approving that quality meets customer specifications.

Production:

  • Oversees and operates the Hot rolling mill area according to SOP and work instructions.
  • Monitors and regulates production parameters to ensure that controlled processes are kept at peak efficiency.
  • Monitors and regulates production parameters to ensure that product is kept within specifications.
  • Writes in a daily logbook quality control, production and/or maintenance issue information and communications related to the operation and production of the crew/machine(s) for incoming shift relief supervisor.
  • Reads and comprehends production schedule, work orders, manuals, and performance specifications, to establish proper operation of the equipment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
  • AA/AS or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Medium to advanced understanding of a continuous HRM Line Process, or equivalent manufacturing/production related experience.
  • Understanding of data recording/acquisition systems such as IBA is preferred.
  • Strong safety awareness and experience.
  • Demonstrated capability of providing results through people, technology, and process.
  • Basic SAP & general computer knowledge is required.
  • Basic understanding of automated manufacturing processes.
  • Be able to communicate and motivate coherently- both verbally and via written media.
  • Understand principles of manufacturing.
  • Able to work rotating shifts and extended hours on occasion when required.
