Rolling Mill General Turn Supervisor

We are seeking a results-driven Rolling Mill General Turn Supervisor to lead operations and inspire high-performing teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment. As the Rolling Mill General Turn Supervisor, you will provide leadership across multiple operational areas, including the Rolling Mill, Finishing, and Logistics departments, while partnering with Maintenance teams as needed. You will play a critical role in creating a safe, productive, and engaged workforce while driving performance in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental stewardship through the application of Gerdau's principles and values.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day operations within assigned areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production performance.
  • Coordinate workflow and resources to minimize downtime, reduce operational disruptions, and maximize productivity.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop employees, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives, ensuring employees are qualified and compliant with operational procedures, safety requirements, and company standards.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by administering safety programs and supporting emergency preparedness policies, procedures, and response activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Conduct audits, document findings, and lead corrective action plans to address gaps and improve operational performance.
  • Support daily management activities and collaborate across departments to solve problems, improve processes, and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead by example and foster an environment that reflects Gerdau's commitment to excellence, respect, and continuous development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to production systems, quality processes, standardization practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. In lieu of a degree, an additional 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be accepted.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive operational results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and employee development skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
