Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and professional Class 1 driver to join our transportation team in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from customer sites and other AIM facilities.

What you're responsible for:

  • Operating a 12-wheel, class 1 commercial vehicle to transport metal materials to and from designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies 
  • Safely loading and unloading metal and construction materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit 
  • Performing manual tarping if necessary 
  • Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring that it is in good working condition 
  • Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation 
  • Follow safety and driving regulations at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service
Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have a valid class 1 FM driver's license with a clean Driving Record
  • You have experience operating a manual transmission (required) 
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a class 1 truck driver 
  • You are customer service oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • You have good physical stamina and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities as required.
  • You are familiar with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset) 
  • You have experience with roll-off trucks (an asset)
  • You are reliable, punctual, and safety-oriented
